Mitchell Park Bowl, Palo Alto
Mitchell Park is a popular hotspot in Palo Alto and a favorite park for many in the San Francisco Bay area. If you are visiting Palo Alto in September, you can visit the park and join the party at the 8th Annual Children’s Moon Festival. With lush green grass, winding jogging trails, a huge dog park, and picturesque scenery, Mitchell Park is the perfect background for this fun family event. Plus, it’s free to the general public! From 3 to 5 pm, an array of activities will be set up for the kids. Then, the entertainment and performances will take place between 5 and 6 pm. Last year, the Mayor of Palo Alto commented on the positive impact of this multi-cultural celebration, presented by PAMP (The Parents' Club of Palo Alto & Menlo Park). Mid-Autumn Festival traditions take place throughout California. At the Moon Festival, you will find traditional Asian dance, music, storytelling, martial arts performances, and a lantern parade in keeping with the cultural traditions in China and Vietnam. You can visit http://pampclub.org/ for more information about this community event and other upcoming things to do. Mid-Autumn festivals are especially popular because this is a peak time for travel. When you plan a trip to Palo Alto in mid-September, you can enjoy the warm weather days of California’s fall season. Take advantage of a gorgeous afternoon by strolling around on the 21.4 acres. With several playgrounds, picnic areas with BBQs, benches, tennis courts, public art, and much more, you will find something fun for the whole family when you head to the Moon Festival in Palo Alto.
